Aditya L1 Mission Update: India’s Suryayan Aditya L1 has created another history in space. Aditya L1 has completed its first halo orbit. This is the first orbit of Aditya L1.

Completes one revolution in 178 days

Giving information about this achievement of Aditya L1 mission, ISRO tweeted- Today, Aditya-L1 completed its first halo orbit around the L1 point. After being inserted on January 6, 2024, it took 178 days to complete one revolution.

India’s first Surya Mission

Aditya-L1 is a coronagraphy spacecraft designed and developed by the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) to study the solar atmosphere. It is orbiting in a halo orbit around the Lagrange point 1 (L1) between the Earth and the Sun, about 1.5 million kilometres from Earth, where it is studying the solar atmosphere, solar magnetic storms and their impact on the environment around the Earth.
