ABVP started preparations for DUSU elections, formed election committee

The Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) on Sunday announced its election committee for the upcoming Delhi University Students Union elections. This information has been given in an official statement. It has been said that the committee will take decisions related to the elections including the selection of candidates.

The statement said that ABVP Delhi president Tapan Bihari has been appointed chairman of the DUSU election committee and with the formation of the committee, discussions have begun on the names of potential candidates.

Discussion on names of potential candidates begins

Bihari said, ‘The election committee has started discussing the names of potential candidates for the DUSU elections. Like previous years, this year’s ‘DUSU in Campus’ campaign has received a positive response from students.’ He said that ABVP has consistently represented the students over the years and stands strongly with them for their concerns and rights.

ABVP Delhi secretary Harsh Atri said, “ABVP units on university campuses are actively engaging with students, sharing the work of the outgoing ABVP-led DUSU and seeking their feedback and suggestions for the upcoming manifesto.”

ABVP had won in 2023

In last year’s Delhi University students’ union election, the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) had won three out of four seats while the National Students Union of India (NSUI) had won only one vice-president’s seat.

Tushar Dedha won the post of president from ABVP. Aparajita won the post of secretary and Sachin Baisla won the post of joint secretary. Abhi Dahiya from NSUI defeated Sushant Dhankar of ABVP after a tough fight.
