9th August was a very special day for Aamir Khan and his family. That is because the film ‘Laapta Ladies’ produced by Aamir was shown in the Supreme Court. During this, Aamir and his ex-wife Kiran Rao talked to Chief Justice of India DY Chandrachud (Dhananjay Yashwant Chandrachud). Let us tell you that the screening of the film was done because it was a part of the gender sensitization program. Many judges of the apex court participated in it.
Aamir took retirement from acting
During this, Aamir Khan said- Why did I produce ‘Missing Ladies’? I realized during Covid-19 that perhaps production could be the end of my career. I was 56 at that time. Now my age has increased in these years. Perhaps I have 15 more years left, where I can show my work. This country, society and industry have given me a lot. I have thought that I will do one film a year, but that too as a producer. I can show all those stories in which I feel powerful.
It is said about Aamir that he shows people only those films which have a strong message hidden in them. Aamir said- I want to give a chance to new voices and stories. With the help of production, I can give a chance to new writers, directors and everyone who is a part of this whole process. ‘Laapta Ladies’ is my first step in direction. I want to promote such talent and am thinking of producing 45 films a year. We should make more such films and watch them too.
Kiran Rao said- The story of the film is taken from a script by Biplab Goswami. Aamir attended the Screen Writers Association in the year 2020. There, he heard this story and we thought of buying the rights of this film. We are seeing rapid changes in the film industry. We will definitely try to show more such stories as much as possible.
