At the same time, a person made an indecent comment on social media about Captain Anshuman Singh’s wife, against which the National Commission for Women (NCW) has now asked the Delhi Police to take immediate action.

Women’s commission demanded action

According to the information, the National Commission for Women (NCW) has identified the indecent and derogatory comment made by Ahmed of Delhi on the photo of the widow of Kirti Chakra Captain Anshuman Singh. This act violates Section 79 of the Indian Justice Code, 2023 and Section 67 of the Information Technology Act, 2000. NCW condemns this behavior and urges immediate police action. National Commission for Women Chairperson Rekha Sharma has sent a letter to the Delhi Police Commissioner asking him to arrest the accused and send a detailed report within 3 days.

Let us tell you that Captain Anshuman Singh was posted as Regimental Medical Officer in the 403 Field Hospital of 26 Punjab Battalion on attachment to 26 Madras in Siachen Glacier in July last year. On 19 July 2023, at 3:30 am, a fire broke out in the army’s ammunition bunker due to a short circuit. Many soldiers were trapped in the bunker. Anshuman Singh entered the bunker to save the soldiers, where he got badly burnt. He died during treatment in Chandigarh.
