A woman was duped of Rs 7 lakh in the name of cheap gold and branded clothes, the fraudsters had come to live in her house on rent

Police have arrested five people from Gurugram, Haryana, adjacent to Delhi, who had duped a woman of about Rs 7 lakh by luring her with cheap gold and clothes.

An official said that on the pretext of providing cheap gold and branded clothes, the accused had cheated the woman of Rs 6.70 lakh. Now Gurugram Police has arrested five accused including two women.

Women should neither get clothes nor cheap gold

According to the news agency, he said that after about five months, the crime unit arrested all five accused on Thursday night. According to the police, a woman had lodged a complaint at the New Colony police station on April 23 that in February this year, some people had come to live on rent in her house in Jyoti Park Colony.

In her complaint, she said that they took Rs 6 lakh from her on the pretext of providing cheap gold and Rs 70,000 for cheap branded clothes. But the accused neither gave the gold nor the clothes, the victim said.

The tenants fled from the house with cash and goods

In her complaint, the woman alleged that the accused soon fled from her house with cash and other items. According to the police, the arrested accused have been identified as Prem Kumar, Naveen Kumar, Rajni Verma, Kavita and Sachin Kumar. Gurugram police said, “We are interrogating the accused and trying to recover the defrauded amount.”
