The devotees take out the snakes by diving into the river and catching them with their hands and mouth. People are also quite surprised to see this.

At the beginning of the fair, devotees worship at the temple of Maa Bhagwati located in Singhia Bazaar and reach the Budhi Gandak river with drums and cymbals. Then they worship and take a dip in the river. After this, the process of removing snakes from the river begins. Apart from the youth, small children also get involved in removing snakes from the river. People are seen roaming around with snakes in their hands or wrapped around their necks.

Some people associate it with devotion and call it a miracle of God. People say that wishes made on this day are fulfilled and devotees say that after the wish is fulfilled, the snakes taken out of the river are left at safe places.
