Judelson said he looked around, no one was panicking. As soon as we landed, the woman sitting in front jumped up and ran to the front of the plane. It seemed like she wanted to be the first one off the plane.

A flight got delayed for 12 hours because of a louse

The situation became even more awkward when passengers were told they would face a 12-hour delay. The airline gave hotel vouchers to all passengers. Judelson wondered if they were stranded in Phoenix indefinitely. American Airlines confirmed in a statement that the flight was diverted due to a medical emergency.

It was later discovered that the real reason for the emergency landing was lice. Judelson overheard other passengers discussing that insects had been seen in a woman’s hair, which prompted the landing. Despite this unusual interruption, the passengers eventually departed for New York, however, the passengers lost time due to a louse.
