A minor girl was kidnapped and raped, now the court has sentenced the culprit to 20 years of imprisonment, along with a fine

A POCSO court in Rajasthan has convicted the accused of kidnapping and raping a minor girl. The court has also sentenced him to 20 years of imprisonment. It is worth noting that the verdict in this case was to be pronounced two months ago.

Rakesh Thakur, public prosecutor of the POCSO court in Bundi city, said the accused was absent from the court on the date of hearing, following which an arrest warrant was issued against him.

The 26-year-old convict Kaushal alias Kaushal Raj Meena is a resident of Bishanpura village of Bundi Sadar police station. In December 2019, he kidnapped a 17-year-old girl and raped her. Now the POCSO court has sentenced him to 20 years imprisonment and a fine of Rs 1,30,000 for this crime.

In fact, in this case, the father of the minor victim had lodged a missing report in Bundi Sadar police station on 15 December 2019 and named Kaushal Raj of the same village as a suspect in the kidnapping of the teenager. The police recovered the minor victim a month later.

Along with this, the police also arrested the accused Kaushal Raj Meena. But later he got bail. However, on Friday he was convicted under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, 2012 and was sentenced to a severe punishment.
