A woman who longed for a haircut all day finally got it, but she didn’t expect her husband’s reaction.
On August 29, TikTok User @emily_lopez1023 posted Video Her partner’s first look at her new bob. The clip—which shows the man standing outside his wife’s car with his mouth open and eyes wide—has since gone viral, garnering 2.7 million views and more than 124,000 likes.
“When you didn’t tell your husband you were cutting your hair and this is his reaction,” the poster captioned the video, in which her husband’s words of support can be heard.
Newsweek TikTok has reached out to @emily_lopez1023 for comment. We could not verify the details of the case.
“No way! You look so hot. Wow,” she said. The poster told her husband she didn’t expect him to come out and “literally ducked” to avoid his gaze at first.
The poster also seems to be enjoying her new hairstyle, as in other videos on her TikTok page she shows off her new bob and offers a styling tutorial at a viewer’s request.
In another video, the poster says she wanted to cut her long hair for three days. After being inspired by TikTok, she booked an appointment without telling her husband.
“He was Really shocked” she said in the video.
Viewers took to the comments section to discuss her husband A surprising reaction. His first words, in particular, made an impression.
“This ‘You look so hot!’ ‘What did you do?’ A user wrote instead.
“The way we all saw him fall in love again,” added another.
“He loves her for her and not her looks, he is one of the few men who knows what it means to love someone, so beautiful,” said one commenter.
However, not everyone can relate to receiving such compliments from a partner.
“I cut my hair a few weeks ago. My husband said my face looked fatter and like I was going through a midlife crisis,” one user wrote.
“My ex-husband once asked me after a haircut if I had complained to the manager,” said another.
Other users highlighted that moments of excitement, however small, can be etched into lifelong memories. One commenter wrote about her husband, who died a year ago, saying she was always more excited than seeing a new haircut or color.
