A lawyer was murdered in Hardoi, Uttar Pradesh on Tuesday. In protest against this, the advocates held a meeting today and decided to abstain from judicial work till August 5 and started a strike. In protest against the murder of the lawyer, the advocates took out a procession on the road. After the demonstration, they also demonstrated at the District Magistrate and Superintendent of Police office. Along with this, they have demanded the arrest of the accused within two days.

Let us tell you that on Tuesday night, senior criminal lawyer Kanishka Mehrotra was shot dead by unknown shooters in his office in his house. After this incident, the police took some people into custody, but they did not find any strong connection with this incident. Till now the police have come up empty handed in this case, due to which there is anger among the lawyers.

Today, in Hardoi, the lawyers held a meeting in the Advocates’ Association and decided to abstain from judicial work till August 5 in connection with the murder. The lawyers took out a procession on the streets and raised slogans against the police administration. The protesting lawyers were carrying placards in their hands.

In this case, the police have detained some people who had a land dispute with the deceased advocate. These include the former district president of the Samajwadi Party. So far, the police have not got any concrete success in this case. The police have not got any concrete clue about the shooters either. Several police teams are conducting several investigations regarding this murder.

DM MP Singh said that yesterday evening a senior advocate was shot at Cinema Square in the city. He died. An FIR has been registered in this matter. The police is continuously active. Bar Association Hardoi President KD Shukla said that our senior advocate Kanishka Mehrotra was murdered by three people, which is captured in CCTV. The police has taken the CCTV footage, but has not been able to make any arrests yet. Only they will know why they could not do so. We want the accused to be arrested and punished. If this happens to advocates, our future is ruined. These people will ruin it even more. We do not have enmity with anyone. We work as the ruling party and the opposition. We do not have enmity. The demand is that the accused should be caught and encountered within 2 days, their houses should be demolished, otherwise after 2 days we will hold a violent protest, the responsibility of which will be of the police administration. Today we have taken out a peaceful procession.
