A laborer was killed in Haryana, an old man was beaten up in a train in Maharashtra… The mob crossed all limits of cruelty on suspicion of eating beef

Two shocking incidents have come to light from two different states of the country. The first incident happened in Haryana, adjacent to Delhi, while the second incident happened in Maharashtra. One thing is common in both the incidents, that is, the mob crossed all limits of cruelty on suspicion of beef. On one side, the mob beat the victim so much that he died, while in the second incident, the mob beat up an old man. The police became active in both the incidents. While the police have arrested 5 accused in Haryana and caught 2 minors, the accused have been taken into custody in Dhule, Maharashtra.

First let’s talk about Haryana. A migrant labourer from West Bengal was beaten to death in Charkhi-Dadri district of Haryana, an electoral state. Police said that the people of the cow protection group beat the victim badly on suspicion of eating beef. However, in this case, the police have arrested 5 members of the cow protection group. Also, 2 minor accused have also been arrested.

Haryana Chief Minister Naib Singh Saini’s statement has also come out in this case. He termed the incident of 27 August as “unfortunate”. He said that we have made a strict law for the protection of cow. There is no compromise for this. People have faith in cow. Their emotions are attached. When such information comes, the people of the village react. CM Saini said that I emphasize that such incidents of lynching are unfortunate and should not happen.
However, he also said that it is not correct to say things like mob lynching.

A senior police officer said that the accused attacked 20-year-old Sabir Malik, a resident of Bengal, on suspicion of eating beef. Police have identified the five accused as Abhishek, Mohit, Ravinder, Kamaljeet and Sahil. He said that on the day of the incident, the accused called Sabir Malik to a shop on the pretext of selling empty plastic bottles and beat him there. After the intervention of some people, all the accused together took the victim Sabir Malik to another place and beat him again. Due to which he died.

Police said that Sabir Malik lived in a slum near Badhra village in Charkhi Dadri district and worked as a garbage collector for livelihood. He said that all 5 accused have been arrested, two minors have also been caught in this case. A case has been registered against the accused under sections of the Indian Penal Code (BNS).

In this case, former Haryana minister Anil Vij said that the law has been made strict in Haryana so that beef is not used. But it is not right to take the law in one’s own hands. At the same time, SP MP Zia ur Rehman Barq said that such incidents are coming to the fore because of the BJP spreading the poison of hatred. He asked whether the houses of these accused will be bulldozed and a case will be run against the accused in a fast track court.

Now let’s talk about the incident in Maharashtra. Actually, some people beat up an elderly passenger on suspicion of carrying beef in the Dhule Express. 72-year-old Ashraf Ali Syed Hussain, a resident of Dhule, had boarded the Dhule CSMT Express train from Jalgaon to Kalyan to meet his daughter. During the journey, he had an argument with other co-passengers over the seat. In relation to this incident, the co-passengers made a video and made it viral on social media.

After this, Thane Railway Police went to the house of the complainant’s daughter and recorded the statement of the victim. He told that I had some luggage, but some passengers suspected that there was beef in the luggage. People claimed that there was something like meat in the plastic box with the victim, but started questioning him about whose it was. Then he was abused and some youths even beat him and made a video of it.

Based on the statement of the complainant, Thane GRP police have registered a case against more than 5 people under sections 189(2), 191(2), 190, 126(2), 115(2), 324(4) (5), 351(2) (3) and 352 of the BNS and taken the accused into custody. The case of beating of the elderly man was reported in a train between Kalyan and Igatpuri stations in Thane district.
