A drunkard kept knocking on the door of the duty room of a 25-year-old lady doctor and started misbehaving with her, the security loophole in a big government hospital in MP was exposed

MP News : In a government hospital in Indore, a ‘drunk’ attendant of a patient tried to enter the room of a 25-year-old junior female doctor and also misbehaved with her. Angered by this, the resident doctors lodged a complaint about the incident. Now the hospital management has ordered an inquiry.

The incident took place on Saturday-Sunday night at Maharaja Yashwantrao Hospital (MYH). The Junior Doctors Association (JDA) said that MYH, one of the largest government hospitals in Madhya Pradesh, should learn a lesson from the rape and murder of a junior doctor in a Kolkata hospital and should increase security in the hospital. MYH is attached to Mahatma Gandhi Memorial Medical College (MGMMC) in Indore.

Dean of the college Dr. Sanjay Dixit said that a four-member committee has been formed to investigate the incident with the woman doctor of MYH. He said that the panel has started its investigation and will submit the report to him as soon as possible.

Meanwhile, JDA has released a video in which a watchman of a private security agency is seen taking a nap on a chair at MYH.

Misbehavior with junior doctor

JDA’s Indore unit vice-president Dr Akash Verma claimed that the video clip is from the intervening night of Saturday-Sunday, when a patient’s attendant, under the influence of alcohol, misbehaved with a female junior doctor on the fifth floor of MYH.

Trying to enter the doctor’s room

He alleged that the attendant tried to enter the woman doctor’s room and used abusive language against her. Verma said, “We demand that the college management lodge an FIR against the person.”

Negligence even after Kolkata incident

Dr Verma said security at MYH must be beefed up in the wake of the rape and murder of a resident doctor at Kolkata’s RG Kar Medical College and Hospital last month.
