A drunk passenger grabbed the steering wheel of the bus, 9 people walking on the footpath got hit

In Mumbai, Maharashtra, a drunk man grabbed the steering wheel of a BEST bus during a fight with the driver. Due to this, the bus lost its balance and 9 pedestrians were hit. The condition of three people injured in this incident is critical.

The Brihanmumbai Electricity Supply and Transport (BEST) undertaking is the transport arm of the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC). According to an officer from the Kalachowki police station, an electric bus on Route 66 (from Ballard Pier in south Mumbai) was heading towards Rani Laxmibai Chowk in Sion when the incident occurred.

A drunk passenger got into a fight with the bus driver. When the bus reached near Ganesh Talkies in Lalbagh, he suddenly grabbed the steering, due to which the bus went out of the driver’s control.

He said that the bus hit two motorcycles and a car and several pedestrians, injuring nine people. Three of them are in critical condition. All the injured have been admitted to different hospitals in the city. The police have taken the drunk passenger into custody and the case is under investigation.
