A group of women reached a jewellery shop located in Chowk Bazar of Thana Kotwali area of Fatehpur district. Then a woman engaged the shopkeeper in conversation and took advantage of the opportunity and stole a box full of gold chains. This entire incident was captured in the CCTV camera installed inside the shop.
After this incident, the victim shopkeeper has lodged a case in the police station. In the CCTV footage, a woman is clearly seen picking up a box from the counter. The police have registered a case in this matter and are searching for the women. According to the shopkeeper Ravi Kumar Rastogi, he has a shop in the name of Lal Babu Jewelers and Sons in Chowk Bazaar.
Ravi told that on August 14, around 1.30 pm, 5 women came inside the shop in different groups. They asked to show different types of jewellery. After this, they engaged the staff present at the counter in a conversation. Meanwhile, one of the women took away a box full of gold chains when she got the chance.
Later, when the items were checked, it was found that a box full of gold chains was missing. The act of the woman stealing from the shop was also captured in CCTV. There were 18 to 20 gold chains in the box. Its weight is said to be around 168 grams.
