A 3-year-old child went missing late at night, this is how he was found from a 100-acre corn field

If a small child gets lost, it is as if the family members stop breathing. On the other hand, if he walks into a forest or field, then finding him is a big challenge. Apart from this, due to the risk to the child’s life, it is very important to find him as soon as possible. Recently, a similar case came to light from Wisconsin, America. Here the police very intelligently found the missing innocent 3-year-old child and also released a video of it.

100 acre corn farm

Actually, this child disappeared from home at 8.45 pm and walked into the fields. This field of 6-6 feet high corn was not a small one but was spread over a hundred acres, meaning it was almost impossible to find the child. In such a situation, when the police was informed about this, they started working on the case very intelligently and quickly.

Dramatic Rescue

According to the New York Post report, the officials brought a thermal drone camera. The plan was that the rescue team could find the child’s location through heat signature. Something similar happened. But how dramatic all this was can be understood only after watching the video.

A clip of this smart rescue operation was uploaded on Facebook by the Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office. The video began with thermal drone footage showing corn fields in grey. Police vehicles were seen parked on the road and a group of officers had already begun their work.

In the camera, something white was seen moving continuously in the grey fields. The police immediately understood that it was a child. After this, the rescue team was informed about the child’s location. It was seen in the video that three people entered the field and brought the child out.

There is no doubt that it was challenging for them to locate the child in the bushes. The New York Post report claims that they were able to rescue the missing child within 15 minutes of receiving real-time information from the drone operators.

‘It would have taken hours to search the entire field’

The thermal drone made the job much easier for the rescue team as its heat signature helped them narrow their search to a specific area of the 100-acre corn field. The child was immediately returned to his parents. It is said that when the authorities found the child, he was half a mile away from his home. Regarding the rescue operation, the Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office said in a statement, ‘This incident shows the importance of technology and cooperation between law enforcement in our community. Without the thermal imaging drone, it would have taken the police hours to search the entire cornfield, and this could have been fatal for the child.’

Many Facebook users were stunned after watching the drone footage. One of them expressed his concern for the missing child and wrote- ‘It was an amazing rescue. The poor child must have been so scared.’ Another said – ‘I can only imagine how difficult it must have been for everyone involved, including the authorities.’
