A 3-storey building collapsed in Delhi’s Jahangirpuri, three died and many were injured after being buried under the rubble

Three people died when an old and dilapidated building collapsed in Delhi’s Jahangirpuri. There is still a possibility that many people are trapped under the debris due to the collapse of the three-storey building, and rescue work is still going on.

Officials said that some more people may still be trapped in the debris and efforts are being made to rescue them. Police had earlier recovered two bodies including a woman from the debris. An official said that the name of the third deceased in the incident is Mukesh Kumar (45) who was injured and died during treatment in the hospital.

He said the three-storey building that collapsed was a textile factory. The official said, “Some repair work was going on inside the building when it collapsed.” Delhi Fire Service (DFS) officials said they received an emergency call at around 12.51 pm, after which five fire engines were rushed to the spot.

Let us tell you that repair work was done in this factory 1 year ago but despite this, different works were being done on all three floors of the factory. During the repair work, the front part of the building collapsed and about 6 to 7 people working there got buried under the debris.

After receiving information about the incident, the police team reached the spot and started rescue work and four people were pulled out from the debris and they were taken to Babu Jagjivan Ram Hospital. The work of removing the debris is still going on and there is chaos in the entire area.
