Report on defeat in UP

BJP UP Defeat Report: The weak performance of the Bharatiya Janata Party in Uttar Pradesh in the Lok Sabha elections 2024 has led to internal tussle in the party. The issue of government and organization has started coming to the fore. Amidst the news of Deputy CM Keshav Prasad Maurya’s displeasure and his meeting with JP Nadda, now a report has come out on the party’s performance in the elections. According to sources, UP BJP President Bhupendra Chaudhary has prepared a 15-page report on the Lok Sabha election results based on discussions and feedback from 40 thousand BJP workers on 80 seats in UP. Bhupendra Chaudhary met PM Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah and JP Nadda in the last two days regarding the poor results in UP and gave a feedback report and also had a detailed discussion.

The party’s vote share decreased by about 8 percent

The report said that the party’s vote share declined by about 8 per cent across all the six regions of the state. According to the report, the party performed the worst in the West and Kashi regions, where it won just eight out of 28 seats. In Braj, it got 8 out of 13 seats. In Gorakhpur, the party got just six out of 13 seats, while in Awadh, it got just 7 out of 16 seats. In Kanpur-Bundelkhand, the BJP failed to regain its existing seats, winning just 4 out of 10 seats.

In the report, the president gave these reasons for the party’s poor performance

  • Arbitrariness of officials and administration in the state
  • Dissatisfaction of party workers towards the government
  • Paper leaks in government jobs for the last 6 years
  • The opposition’s issue of abolishing reservation has gained strength due to the priority given to people of the general category in the recruitment of contract workers in government jobs by the state government.
  • Dissatisfaction with the party of Rajput community
  • Statements made by party leaders on the issue of changing the constitution
  • Old pension issue among government officials
  • Agniveer became a big issue in this election

arbitrary election officials

The party believes that the names of BJP’s core voters have been deleted from the voter list by election officials at the lower level. Names of 30 thousand to 40 thousand core voters of the party have been deleted from the voter list on all seats. The report also said that in this election, the percentage of votes received by BJP from non-Yadav OBCs i.e. Kurmi, Kori, Maurya, Shakya and Lodh castes has decreased.

Huge reduction in votes of Dalit-OBCs

The report also said that the party got only one-third of the Dalit votes as compared to 2019. BSP’s core voter Jatav and the voter share of Khatik and Pasi community which BJP has received since 2014 have decreased significantly. The report said that the party should fix all the above reasons in time. The report said that if government officials and administration treat party workers with respect, then whether it is by-elections on the upcoming 10 seats in the state or municipal corporation, body or district panchayat elections, BJP’s performance will be good and we will win.
