The monsoon session of the Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly is starting from July 29. The UP government will present the supplementary budget in this session. The government will bring the first supplementary budget for 2024-25. Before the by-elections, the Yogi government will provide funds for the preparations of Prayagraj Kumbh through this supplementary budget and will speed up the ongoing schemes.

Finance department is busy in preparations

The Finance Department of Uttar Pradesh has started preparing to bring the supplementary budget. In this budget, the state government will also make arrangements to complete the necessary projects of other departments. After the central budget, now focusing on the previous schemes of UP, the government will focus on completing many ongoing schemes and priorities in the supplementary budget.

Monsoon session will start from July 29

Earlier, the Yogi government had presented a budget of Rs 7.36 lakh crore for 2024-25 in February. The monsoon session of the UP Assembly will begin on July 29 and continue till August 2. While the government has to present the budget, the Samajwadi Party is in high spirits after its better performance in the Lok Sabha elections. In such a situation, the monsoon session of the UP Assembly is expected to be full of uproar.

The biggest challenge for the government

One challenge before the government is the displeasure of its allies which has been visible from time to time since the Lok Sabha elections. Recently, Sanjay Nishad of the BJP’s ally Nishad Party, who is also a cabinet minister, had targeted the bulldozer action.

He had said that the officers act arbitrarily and do not even listen to the ministers, which affects the elections. RLD’s Jayant Chaudhary has already lodged an objection to the Yogi government’s decision to put nameplates in front of shops on the route of the Kanwar Yatra. Earlier, Apna Dal Sonelal president Anupriya Patel had also accused of discrimination in government jobs.
