Nameplate Case, The Supreme Court had stayed the Yogi government’s decision to allow shopkeepers to install nameplates during the Kanwad Yatra in Uttar Pradesh. Meanwhile, the nameplate issue has once again reached the Supreme Court. This time a petition has been filed in the court in its support. The Supreme Court issued notices to the governments of Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand and Madhya Pradesh on similar orders. The court had also put an interim stay on all orders.

Unnecessarily being given a communal colour- Petitioner

Let us tell you, supporting the directive issued by the Senior Superintendent of Police of Muzaffarnagar, a petitioner said that there is a demand to forcibly give a communal colour to this matter. Petitioner Surjeet Singh Yadav said that this order was given to maintain the convenience, faith and law and order of Shiv bhakts. He said that it has been unnecessarily given a communal colour.

Petitioner Surjeet Singh Yadav says that the people who have filed the petition in the court on this matter are not shopkeepers but those who want to give it a political colour. Citing the fundamental rights of Shiv bhakts, the petitioner has also demanded that he be made a party in this case and his side be heard.

Let us tell you, the Supreme Court on Monday put an interim stay on the instructions of the Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand government regarding displaying the names of the owners of the eateries located on the Kanwar Yatra route. Along with this, the court also issued notice to the governments of Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand and Madhya Pradesh on the petitions filed against these instructions of Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand. Trinamool Congress MP Mahua Moitra had approached the Supreme Court against the order of the Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand governments which said that the eateries located on the Kanwar Yatra route would have to display the names of their owners.
