Superintendent of Police Vrinda Shukla said that three Dalit girls who had gone to the weekly market were molested by Salman and Aslam who run a meat shop. When the girls and one of their brothers protested against the molestation, the accused attacked them with sharp weapons.

In this incident, some people including a Dalit girl were injured. On the charge of negligence in this case, the station in-charge Rakesh Kumar Singh has been suspended, while the local sub-inspector Ashok Kumar and two head constables have been suspended on Tuesday.

The SP said that a case was registered against nine accused in connection with the incident. The police had already arrested six named accused on Monday, while three accused were arrested on Tuesday. The matter is being investigated.

Bahraich Additional Superintendent of Police (Rural Area) Pavitra Mohan Tripathi had said that a person from the Dalit community living in Motisingh Purwa village of Nanpara police station area had complained that three girls of his family were molested on Sunday evening.

The three girls had gone to Bodhwa crossing to buy some goods. Meanwhile, Salman and Aslam, who run a meat shop in the market, molested the girls. After the protest against this incident, there was a fierce fight between the two sides. During this, the accused attacked the victim’s side with deadly weapons.

The girl’s younger brother was also present there. The accused’s father got furious when he protested against the molestation. He started beating the girl. After this, both of them fled from there.
