On the third day of the monsoon session of the Bihar Legislative Assembly on Wednesday, opposition members created a ruckus. Opposition members were demanding to include reservation in the Ninth Schedule of the Constitution. Amidst the ruckus, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar stood up and said that whatever your demand is, it has already been fulfilled, there is no point in creating a ruckus over it.

During this, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar stood up and said that the government has already increased the reservation limit after the caste census. The Patna High Court has put a stay on this. The government has approached the Supreme Court in protest against the decision of the High Court. The government has also written to the central government to include it in the Ninth Schedule. After this, there is no point in creating a ruckus over this matter.

He said that after caste based census, 94 lakh poor people have been identified. For their development, the government has started giving two lakh rupees to each person. During this, the Chief Minister was also seen getting angry. He said to a woman MLA, “You are a woman, do you know anything? Where do they come from, have these people done anything? After 2005, we are the ones who have taken women forward.”

‘You people just want to get ‘sympathy”

On the opposition’s protest, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Vijay Chaudhary said that the Bihar government has already sent a proposal to include the increased reservation in the Ninth Schedule. He said that you people only want to get ‘sympathy’. Nitish Kumar stood up when the opposition MLAs started shouting ‘Hai Hai’ in the House. He said that you all are Hai Hai. If you don’t want to listen to us then it is your mistake. Seeing the uproar, the Assembly Speaker adjourned the proceedings of the House till 2 o’clock in the afternoon.
