On Tuesday, a Kanwaria started drowning while bathing in the Ganga under the big bridge of Kangra Ghat in Haridwar. Seeing the Kanwaria drowning, divers Vikrant, Sunny Kumar and Asif Ali of SDRF jumped into the Ganga. They chased the drowning Kanwaria and took him out of the Ganga safely.

The Kawadia who was rescued by the Jal Police and SDRF personnel is named Sandeep son of Jairam. He is a resident of Rudrapur village of Gorakhpur in Uttar Pradesh. Sandeep started drifting in the strong current while bathing in the Ganga. Divers rescued him in time. Otherwise it would have been difficult for him to survive.

A large number of devotees are coming from all over the country to Haridwar to collect Ganga water during the Kavad fair. Before picking up the Kavad, devotees take a bath in the Ganga and fill it with Ganga water. While taking a bath in the Ganga, many times devotees get caught in the strong current of the Ganga and start drowning. The water police and SDRF divers deployed at the ghats are acting as angels in saving them.

On Tuesday also, a Kanwariya started drowning while bathing in the Ganga under the big bridge of Kangra Ghat. After this, the divers and SDRF personnel present there jumped into the river to save him without wasting any time. With great difficulty, the Kanwariya was rescued from the strong current of the Ganga.
