Dengue cases, At least five districts in southern West Bengal have reported a rise in dengue cases with each district reporting more than 100 cases of the disease till July 20. However, the official claimed that the situation is not alarming.

How many cases of dengue where?

North 24 Parganas has reported the highest number of dengue cases at 268. Other districts in South Bengal that have reported the highest number of dengue cases include Murshidabad (224), Hooghly (181) and Kolkata (152). The official said that about 230 dengue cases have also been reported in Malda district of North Bengal.

A senior official of the state health department told news agency Bhasha that the dengue situation in West Bengal is not alarming. The disease flourishes with the monsoon season and reaches its peak after that. This year the number of dengue cases is comparatively less.

Why are dengue cases increasing?

He claimed that the graph of dengue infection in Bengal is much lower than last year, but in the last few weeks, there has been a surge in dengue cases mainly due to the accumulation of rainwater in many areas. We have been active to prevent the infection since the beginning of this year.
