Multiple fires in Wailuku, Maui, have prompted mandatory evacuations along Piihana Road and nearby areas. The Maui Fire Department (MFD) reported these incidents early on July 22, 2024, with the fires spreading quickly, leading to immediate action from emergency services.
Evacuation Details
The Maui Emergency Management Agency (MEMA) announced mandatory evacuations for residents on Piihana Road, Neki Place, and Hapanui Place. In addition, a voluntary evacuation was advised for the Happy Valley area. Evacuees were directed to Keopuolani Regional Park in Kahului for safety.
