Son files FIR after photo of missing father surfaces.

Maharashtra news: A different kind of case has come to light from Maharashtra. Here a son saw the picture of his missing father in an advertisement issued for the promotion of a government scheme. After this, the son approached the police in search of his father. The matter is related to the Chief Minister Tirtha Darshan Yojana of the Maharashtra government. According to the information, the government poster of this scheme has been shared by the ruling Shiv Sena on its social media platform. After this, a person has contacted the Pune Police and claimed that the person seen in the poster is his father who has been missing for three years.

Bharat Tambe, a resident of Shikrapur, said the police and the state government should conduct a detailed investigation into the advertisement posted on Instagram and find out under what circumstances the photograph of his father, 68-year-old Dnyaneshwar Tatbe, was taken so that he could be traced and reunited with his family.

FIR lodged after the picture surfaced

Bharat Tambe, owner of an eatery, said on Monday, “One of my friends told me about the advertisement and sent the screenshot. My father has been missing for the last three years. I have lodged an FIR about his disappearance at Shikrapur police station. The authorities and the state government should trace my father. The social media post in which my father’s picture appeared has now been removed.” He said, “We did not lodge a complaint initially as my father had a habit of visiting relatives’ houses without informing them. He would return in a few days. It is possible that this picture was taken in the wadi (Lord Vitthal devotees’ walk) from Alandi to Pandharpur.”

Police started investigation

Deepratna Gaikwad, senior inspector of Shikrapur police station, said two teams have been formed to trace Dnyaneshwar Tambe after the missing complaint was lodged. “We are focusing on Pandharpur and Alandi as the family has suspected that the photo might have been taken during the wadi. We are also investigating for more clues as to how the photo came in the advertisement,” Gaikwad said.
