Congress attacks UPSC chairman: After the resignation of Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) chairman Manoj Soni, the Congress on Friday claimed that there are many people who have corrupted the system. Party general secretary Jairam Ramesh questioned why National Examination Agency (NTA) chief Pradeep Kumar Joshi was left. He said that it was clearly visible that Soni would be removed in view of the current controversy in the UPSC.

Jairam targets PM Modi

UPSC chairman Manoj Soni has resigned from his post citing personal reasons, official sources said on Saturday. His term was to end in May 2029. Since 2014, the sanctity, prestige, autonomy and professional approach of all constitutional bodies have been badly damaged. But from time to time even the self-proclaimed non-biological prime minister is forced to say enough is enough.

He wrote, Narendra Modi brought in one of his favourite ‘academics’ from Gujarat as a UPSC member in 2017 and made him chairman for a six-year term in 2023. But this so-called distinguished gentleman has now resigned five years before his term ends. Whatever the reason, it clearly seemed that he would be ousted given the current controversy surrounding the UPSC.

Pooja Khedkar has nothing to do with the matter

He said, many more such persons have corrupted the system. Take for example, the chairman of NTA. Why is he still spared? Sources said that Soni’s resignation has nothing to do with the questions being raised on the Union Public Service Commission after the case of probationary IAS (Indian Administrative Service) officer Pooja Khedkar came to light.
