6 new bills will be passed in Parliament

6 new bills in Parliament: Six new bills, including a bill to amend the Disaster Management Act, will be introduced during the monsoon session of Parliament beginning next week. Apart from the Finance Bill, the government has also listed the Indian Aircraft Bill 2024 to replace the Aircraft Act 1934 to provide enabling provisions for ease of doing business in the civil aviation sector. The list of bills was published in the Parliament Bulletin issued by the Lok Sabha Secretariat on Thursday evening.

Monsoon session begins on July 22

The monsoon session will begin on July 22 and continue till August 12. Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman will present the Union Budget on July 23. Other bills listed for introduction and passage during the session include the Boiler Bill, which replaces a pre-Independence law, the Coffee (Promotion and Development) Bill and the Rubber (Promotion and Development) Bill. Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla also constituted the Business Advisory Committee (BAC) to set the parliamentary agenda.

Suresh (Congress), Anurag Thakur (BJP) and Lalji Verma (SP) as members.

Taxpayers hope for relief

There is a lot of expectation and speculation that Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman may announce some relief and benefits for taxpayers under the Modi 3.0 government in the Union Budget 2024. The central government is preparing to increase state subsidies for rural housing in the Union Budget, which is expected to increase by up to 50 per cent compared to last year, news agency Reuters reported, citing two government officials.

A record will be registered in the name of Nirmala Sitharaman

The special thing is that the budget is being presented twice this year. The interim budget was presented on 1 February 2024. Now after the formation of the new government, the full Union Budget will be presented. This time with the presentation of the budget, a unique record will be registered in the name of Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman. She will become the first Finance Minister to present seven consecutive Union Budgets. She will surpass Morarji Desai who had presented six consecutive budgets.
