Supreme Court gets two new judges, The Supreme Court has got 2 new judges, these two new judges were sworn in by Chief Justice DY Chandrachud. After the appointment of both the judges, the approved number of judges in the Supreme Court has become 34. CJI DY Chandrachud administered the oath to Justice N Kotishwar Singh and Justice R Mahadevan. Justice N Kotishwar Singh is the first person from Jammu and Kashmir to become a Supreme Court judge. All the judges of the Supreme Court and bar officials were present in this oath ceremony. After the President’s approval and warrant was issued for the appointment in the Supreme Court, the oath was administered in the Chief Justice’s court on Thursday.

After the retirement of the judges two posts were vacant

The Supreme Court Collegium had recommended to the central government last week to appoint Jammu and Kashmir CJ Justice N Kotishwar Singh and Madras High Court Acting Chief Justice R Mahadevan as Supreme Court judges. Let us tell you that earlier the total number of judges in the Supreme Court was 32. Two judges retired in the last months. Justice Aniruddha Bose and Justice AS Bopanna retired from the Supreme Court in the months of April and May. After the retirement of these judges, the Supreme Court was working with 32 judges.
