The family of Thomas Matthew Crooks, the 20-year-old who was identified as the gunman in the attempted assassination of former President Donald Trump at a rally in Pennsylvania, has expressed shock and bewilderment over the incident.
Crooks, a resident of Bethel Park, Pennsylvania, was fatally shot by a Secret Service sniper after he opened fire at the rally in Butler, approximately an hour’s drive north of Pittsburgh. The attack resulted in one fatality and two others sustaining severe injuries among the rally attendees .

The FBI confirmed Crooks’ identity through DNA analysis, as he did not have any identification on him at the time of the incident . Eyewitnesses reported seeing a man, believed to be Crooks, armed with a rifle on a nearby building before the shooting .
