After the attack, Defence Secretary Giridhar Armane said that ‘the martyrdom of the soldiers will not go in vain.’ He also paid his tribute to the martyred soldiers. On this he said, ‘I express my deepest condolences to the martyred soldiers in the terrorist attack in Badnota area of ​​Kathua. The country will always remember their sacrifice. Their martyrdom will not go in vain. We will defeat the forces behind this attack.’

Rajnath Singh expressed condolences

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on Tuesday said he was “deeply saddened” by the death of five jawans in a terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir’s Kathua district. Rajnath said the anti-terror operation was continuing and the soldiers were committed to “maintaining peace and order” in the area. On Monday, five jawans were killed and several others injured when heavily armed terrorists ambushed a patrol party in Kathua’s Badnota area. “My heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families. The nation stands firmly with them in this difficult time. The anti-terror operation is continuing. Our soldiers are committed to maintaining peace and order in the area,” he said. “I pray for the speedy recovery of the jawans injured in this cowardly terror attack,” the Defence Minister said.

All the martyred soldiers are from Uttarakhand

The names of the soldiers who attained martyrdom in Kathua are Naik Vinod Singh, Rifleman Adarsh ​​Negi, Havildar Kamal Singh, Naib Subedar Anand Singh and Rifleman Anuj Negi. All the brave soldiers are from Uttarakhand. Anand Singh is from Rudraprayag, Kamal Singh is from Pauri, Vinod Singh is from Tehri Garhwal, Anuj Negi is from Pauri Garhwal and Adarsh ​​Negi is from Tehri Garhwal.

The attack took place near Badnota village

Giving information about the attack, army officials said that the incident took place around 3.30 pm when the army vehicle was on routine patrol on the Machedi-Kindli-Malhar road near Badnota village in Lohai Malhar, 150 km from Kathua city. This is the second major attack in Kathua district within a month. Before Monday’s attack, two terrorists were killed and a Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) jawan lost his life in a similar encounter on June 12 and 13. After the ambush on Monday, the terrorists fled into the nearby forest. The army is retaliating with the help of police and paramilitary personnel.

Jammu region is now the target of terrorists

Officials said it is feared that terrorists used this route to reach the hinterland after infiltrating across the border. The army vehicle was carrying 10 soldiers, who came under attack. Jammu region, known for its peaceful atmosphere, has been rocked by a series of attacks by terrorists in recent months. These attacks have taken place in the border districts of Poonch, Rajouri, Doda and Reasi.

Government should take strict action against terrorism-Manish Tiwari

After the Kathua attack, Congress has demanded strict action against terrorists. It has also demanded an answer from the government. Congress MP Manish Tiwari said that this is the 24th attack in the last seven months. Paying tribute to the families of the martyred soldiers, Tiwari asked why are these attacks happening? He said, ‘I hope the government will take strict action and stop cross-border terrorism. Pakistan is helping the terrorists.’ Congress leader Sachin Pilot said that the government will have to answer after the Kathua attack.
