Rahul Gandhi Manipur: Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Monday reached Churachandpur camp in Manipur and met the victims of violence there. During this, Rahul Gandhi met the families of the victims of Manipur violence and listened to their problems and assured them to raise them before the government.

Rahul Gandhi met violence affected families

Rahul Gandhi visited relief camps in Jibram and Churachandpur districts and interacted with people displaced by the ethnic violence between the Meitei and Kuki-Jos. The violence started on May 3 last year. State Congress president K. Meghachandra told reporters, “The purpose of Rahul Gandhi’s visit is to provide assistance to the people and assess the situation on the ground. His visit reflects the party’s commitment to address the concerns of people affected by the recent violence.”

Rahul Gandhi will also meet the Governor

He is also scheduled to meet Governor Anusuiya Uikey at Raj Bhavan at 6 pm. Rahul Gandhi had earlier visited the region twice after communal violence broke out in the state. Rahul Gandhi had also raised this issue in Parliament during the recent Parliament session. Before his visit to Manipur, Rahul Gandhi met flood victims in Silchar, Assam. He urged the Centre to immediately provide all possible help and assistance to the state.

Rahul Gandhi’s focus is on Manipur

Rahul Gandhi started his Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra and Lok Sabha election campaign from Manipur. Two Lok Sabha seats of Manipur also went to the Congress’s account – Angomcha Bimol Akoijam from Inner Manipur and Alfred Kan-Ngam Arthur from Outer Manipur (Scheduled Tribe) reserved seat have won.
