According to locals, a similar situation prevails in Mayem in North Goa where the road connecting the village to other areas is submerged. Mayem resident Ramkrishna Naik said, “People are not taking any risk of going out and they will stay inside their homes till the water level subsides.” Talking to reporters, Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant has appealed to people to stay inside their homes and not go to flood-prone areas.
