Mumbai hit and run case: A case of hit and run has come to light in Worli area of ​​Mumbai. On Sunday, a BMW car hit a couple riding a two-wheeler. After the accident, the woman was dragged on the bonnet, due to which she died. Police have arrested two people in this case on Sunday evening. Officials said that after registering a case against Rajesh Shah and Rajrishi Rajendrasingh Bidawat, who was riding in the car, they were arrested on Sunday evening.

Police say that Rajesh Shah is a leader of the Shiv Sena of Eknath Shinde faction. Rajendra Singh Bidawat was also in the car. Officials said that Rajesh Shah’s son Mihir Shah was driving the car at the time of the accident, but he is absconding. However, a case has been registered against Shah and Bidawat under Section 105 (culpable homicide not amounting to murder) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and other relevant sections.

Accident happened early in the morning

The woman was identified as Kaveri Nakhwa (45). She was travelling on a two-wheeler with her husband Pradeep on Annie Besant Road at around 5.30 am when the driver of a BMW car lost control and hit them, an official from the Worli police station said. “Kaveri Nakhwa fell on the road. People passing by informed the police about the incident,” he said. Kaveri was rushed to the government Nair Hospital where doctors declared her dead. Kaveri and her husband belong to the fishermen community and were returning home from Sassoon Dock in Colaba.

Eknath Shinde’s statement came

After the name of Shiv Sena leader came up in the hit and run case, Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde’s statement has come out. Describing the accident as unfortunate, he said that I have spoken to the police. Whoever is guilty will not be spared. Strictest legal action will be taken, everyone is equal before the law. At the same time, Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Aditya Thackeray said that this is a heart-wrenching incident, the accused should be arrested. I do not want to give any political color to this incident. Violation of traffic rules has increased rapidly, those who break the rules should be given severe punishment.
