Mention of MP Magunta Srinivasulu Reddy
Sunita Kejriwal said in a video message that the ED had arrested Arvind Kejriwal based on the statement of Telugu Desam Party (TDP) MP Magunta Srinivasulu Reddy (MSR). TDP is a constituent of the ruling National Democratic Alliance (NDA). Sunita Kejriwal urged people to support the Delhi Chief Minister.
Told her husband to be honest and patriotic
Kejriwal’s wife said that Arvind Kejriwal is an honest, educated and patriotic person and if the public does not support him, then no educated person would want to come into politics considering the way the AAP leader was treated.
Claimed to change the statement given to ED
Sunita Kejriwal claimed that Magunta Srinivasulu Reddy changed his statement to the ED about his meeting with the Delhi Chief Minister after his son Raghav Magunta Reddy was arrested and denied bail. According to her, Srinivasulu Reddy had earlier said that he had met the Delhi Chief Minister on March 16, 2021 regarding land for opening a charitable trust in Delhi, but changed his statement on July 17, 2023 after his son’s arrest.
‘Would anyone ask for money in front of so many people?’
She asked, “In his statement to the ED, Srinivasulu Reddy said that Kejriwal asked him in the presence of about 10 people to enter the liquor business in Delhi and give Rs 100 crore to AAP. Would anyone ask for money in front of so many people?” Sunita Kejriwal also claimed that as soon as Srinivasulu Reddy changed his statement, his son was granted bail. She said, “It is clear that his statement is false.”
‘Modi wants to finish Aam Aadmi Party’
The Delhi Chief Minister’s wife urged people to share her video and alleged that Prime Minister Narendra Modi wants to destroy Kejriwal and the Aam Aadmi Party by using the ED and CBI. There was no immediate reaction from the ED or the BJP.
Kejriwal was arrested by the ED on March 21 in a money laundering case related to alleged irregularities in his government’s excise policy 2021-22. He is currently in judicial custody after being arrested by the CBI.
