PM Modi will visit Russia after 5 years, will be on a visit to Russia and Austria from 8 to 10 July

time Modi Russia visit, Prime Minister Modi will visit Russia on a two-day visit on July 8 and 9, where he will attend the 22nd India-Russia Annual Summit where the entire multifaceted relations between these two countries will be reviewed. The Ministry of External Affairs said that after concluding his visit to Russia, Modi will visit Austria, which will be the first visit of an Indian Prime Minister to Austria in 41 years. This will be Modi’s first visit to Russia in nearly five years. His last visit to Russia was in 2019 when he attended an economic conference in Vladivostok.

Ahead of Modi’s visit, External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar on Wednesday raised the issue of Indian citizens in the war zone with his Russian counterpart Sergei Lavrov and requested to ensure their safe return. Jaishankar arrived in Astana, Kazakhstan on Tuesday to represent India at the annual summit of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO).

This will be PM Modi’s first visit to Russia after the ongoing war between Russia and Ukraine. The Foreign Ministry statement said that PM Modi and President Putin will discuss prospects for further development of traditionally friendly Russian-Indian relations, as well as relevant issues of the international and regional agenda.

PM Modi will also visit Austria during 09-10 July 2024. This will be the first visit of an Indian Prime Minister to Austria in 41 years. PM Modi will also hold talks with Austrian President Alexander Van der Bellen and Austrian Chancellor Karl Nehammer.
