34th Annual 4th on Broadway Celebration in Lubbock, Texas

Lubbock’s 34th annual 4th on Broadway celebration is set to take place on July 4, 2024, featuring a parade, music, kid’s activities, eating contests, an evening concert, and a fireworks extravaganza.

The celebration begins at 9:45 a.m. with the Bolton Oil Parade, which starts at Broadway and Avenue J and ends at MLK, Jr. Blvd. The parade will be broadcasted on KLBK.

The Gandy’s Kids Area at Mackenzie Park will be open from 10:30 a.m. until 6:00 p.m., offering inflatables, water slides, face painting, a mechanical bull, and more.

Music lovers can enjoy the BMW of Lubbock Daytime Stages from 11 a.m. to 4:15 p.m., featuring the best of West Texas music on four major outdoor stages[3]. The Cabela’s Youth Fishing Tournament, with free fishing for ages 18 and under and prizes in several categories, will take place from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The River Smith’s Catfish and Cobbler Eating Contests for kids and adults will be held at 5 p.m., with pre-registration encouraged.

The evening concert, presented by The Gorilla Law Firm, will feature headliner Smash Mouth, along with a tribute to Selena featuring Gabriella Flores, Blackwater Draw, and a Rockin’ ’80s Tribute featuring the Caldwell Collective.

The celebration will conclude with the United Supermarkets Fireworks Extravaganza at 10 p.m., choreographed live to classic and contemporary patriotic music.

Free parking is available off Canyon Lake Drive between Broadway and 19th Street, while paid parking is offered at the South Plains Fairgrounds with a free shuttle service.

The 4th on Broadway celebration is organized by Broadway Festivals, Inc., a non-profit corporation whose mission is to enhance the quality of life and embrace the unique history, heritage, and culture of Lubbock and the West Texas region.
