Arvind Kejriwal at the doorstep of the High Court, know in which case he has now sought bail

Arvind Kejriwal In the High Court: Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has once again approached the court for bail. He moved the Delhi High Court on Wednesday (Delhi High Court) and sought bail in the corruption case registered by the CBI in connection with the alleged excise policy scam.

Arrest was challenged in CBI case

The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) national convenor was arrested by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) from Tihar Jail on June 26. Kejriwal is still in judicial custody there in connection with a money laundering case registered by the Enforcement Directorate (ED). He had challenged his arrest in the CBI case and the petition is pending in the High Court.

Delhi’s Lieutenant Governor had ordered an inquiry

Kejriwal was arrested by the ED on March 21 and was granted bail in the money laundering case by a subordinate court on June 20. However, the High Court stayed the order of the subordinate court. The policy was scrapped after Delhi’s Lieutenant Governor ordered a CBI inquiry into the alleged irregularities and corruption in the formulation and implementation of the excise policy.

According to CBI and ED, irregularities were committed while amending the excise policy and undue benefit was given to the license holders.
