India has a slogan of ‘Atithi Devo Bhava’ to promote tourism. When a tourist comes to India, he takes the image of the country with him. Tourism is the backbone of any country, but many times incidents of misbehavior with them tarnish the image of ‘Atithi Devo Bhava’.

One such case recently surfaced on social media, when Singapore’s travel vlogger Sylvia Chan shared her experience in Delhi. Sylvia, who is on a trip to India, came to Delhi in this connection. There, a rickshaw driver misbehaved with her. According to Sylvia, the rickshaw driver initially behaved friendly, but later demanded excessive money in the name of ride fare.

The series of frauds started from Jama Masjid

Sylvia decided to explore the streets of Old Delhi and met a rickshaw driver. Initially the driver behaved very well and took her from Jama Masjid to Red Fort for the fixed fare of ₹100 but the problem arose when the driver refused to accept the payment of ₹100 and instead demanded ₹6,000. This incident not only disappointed Sylvia but has also negatively impacted the image of tourism in Delhi.

Anger erupted on Instagram

In her video, Sylvia said that she supports local drivers, but after such experiences, she considers it safer to prefer services like Uber. Her experience forced many Instagram users to react. One user commented – He was giving bad vibes throughout the tour, taking me to useless places and asked for money only when he was at a quiet place. Very bad behavior.

Another user said- As an Indian, I apologize for this. The third said- Perhaps this is the reason why most Indians also do not want to go to places like Delhi.

Sylvia’s video is rapidly going viral on social media and has sparked a debate about security in Delhi’s tourist areas. Please note, this is news based on social media posts, aajtak.in does not confirm the authenticity of this news
