Drinking fruit juice and soda drinks during pregnancy is dangerous! It can have a bad effect on the child

We all know that sugary drinks are very dangerous for our health. Consuming sugary drinks can lead to dental problems, weight gain and long-term illnesses like diabetes and high blood pressure. A new research has revealed that women who consume sugary drinks during pregnancy may have many problems in their children.

According to a study published in the peer-reviewed journal Nutrients, women who consume high amounts of sugary drinks during pregnancy can have a very negative effect on them and their unborn child.

This survey was conducted in April and June 2022 and 2023. More than 4 thousand pregnant women were included in this survey. During the survey, all these pregnant women were given fruit juice, carbonated drinks like frizzy drinks, soda, juice and milk drinks.

At the end of this survey, it was observed that women who consumed sugary drinks in large quantities had to face the problem of diabetes during pregnancy. The problem of diabetes during pregnancy is called gestational diabetes. In case of gestational diabetes, the weight of the child may be more than normal, due to which many types of problems may have to be faced during delivery. Apart from this, in case of gestational diabetes, the child may also have problems of premature birth and jaundice.

During the survey, women who consumed sugary drinks 3 times a week were found to have a 38% higher risk of gestational diabetes. Also, the risk of gestational hypertension was found to be 64% higher in these women.

The survey also found that excessive consumption of sugary drinks during pregnancy does not allow the fetus to get sufficient amount of blood, which has a very bad effect on its growth. Also, it increases the risk of premature delivery.

Consuming these sugary drinks four times a week also significantly increases the risk of macrosomia, a condition in which the newborn is much larger than average. At the end of this survey, the researchers said that consuming too much sugary drinks during pregnancy greatly increases the risk of gestational diabetes and gestational hypertension. Along with this, one also has to face the problem of macrosomia.

Researchers also said that to avoid any kind of problem during pregnancy, it is important that women take special care of their diet and consume healthy things in maximum quantity.
