Indian Hockey Team, Paris Olympics 2024: Indian team’s memorable victory in hockey, defeated Australia after 52 years

The Indian men’s hockey team played its last group match against Australia in the Paris Olympics 2024. In this match, the Indian team defeated Australia 3-2. In this match played on 2 August (Friday), Abhishek (18th minute) and captain Harmanpreet Singh (13th and 33rd minute) scored goals for India. On the other hand, Tom Craig (25th minute) and Blake Govers (55th minute) scored for the Kangaroo team. The Indian team has already reached the quarter-finals. The Indian hockey team has defeated Australia in the Olympic Games after 52 years.

The Indian team, which won an Olympic medal in Tokyo after 41 years, defeated New Zealand 3-2 in its first match. Then it played a 1-1 draw against Argentina. After this, the Indian team defeated Ireland 2-0 in the third match. However, it had to face a 1-2 defeat against Tokyo Olympics champion Belgium. Apart from India, Pool B has New Zealand, Argentina, Ireland, Belgium and Australia. Pool A includes Netherlands, Germany, Britain, Spain, South Africa and host country France. Four teams each from both the groups are going to reach the quarter-finals.
