Weather Today: Heavy rain warning for 5 days in Gujarat, IMD alert for these states as well, know the weather condition

Rain havoc is being witnessed in most states of India. Cloudburst has caused devastation in hilly states, while hundreds of people have lost their lives in landslides due to heavy rains in Wayanad, Kerala. The Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an orange alert for heavy rains in Karnataka, Gujarat, Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh, Assam, Meghalaya, Madhya Pradesh and Maharashtra on August 2.

The Meteorological Department has issued a rain alert in many areas of Delhi-NCR. Moderate rain is expected in Delhi, Noida and Ghaziabad today (Friday), August 2. Moderate to heavy rain is expected in Delhi and adjoining areas till August 2. However, the intensity of rain may decrease after that.

According to IMD, the maximum temperature of Delhi this entire week can remain between 33 to 35 degree Celsius and the minimum temperature is likely to remain around 24 to 27 degree Celsius.

The Meteorological Department has issued a rain warning for the next five days along with a thunderstorm warning in Gujarat. Due to offshore trough and cyclonic circulation, heavy rain alert has been issued in different districts of Gujarat. The Meteorological Department has predicted the wind speed to be 45 kilometers per hour in the sea areas of Gujarat and warned fishermen not to go into the sea.

Somewhere orange and somewhere yellow alert for rain

The Meteorological Department has issued a warning of heavy rain with an orange alert of rain in Bhavnagar, Bharuch, Chhotaudepur, Narmada, Tapi, Dang, Surat, Navsari, Valsad, Daman, Dadra and Nagar Haveli on August 3. At the same time, a yellow alert of heavy rain has been issued in Banaskantha, Sabarkantha, Amreli, Gir Somnath, Anand, Vadodara and Panchmahal.

On August 4, the Meteorological Department has issued an orange alert for rain in Surat, Navsari, Valsad, Daman, Dadra and Nagar Haveli located in the south of Gujarat. There is a yellow alert of heavy rain in Kutch, Gir Somnath, Amreli, Bhavnagar, Bharuch, Narmada, Tapi and Dang. The Meteorological Department has issued a yellow alert of heavy rain in Navsari, Valsad, Daman, Dadra and Nagar Haveli on August 5.

Giving information about the good rains and Kharif crops in Gujarat this year, the state’s Agriculture Minister Raghavji Patel said that so far more than 60 percent of the average rainfall of the season has been recorded in the entire state including Saurashtra, Kutch and North Gujarat.

Increase in sowing of Kharif crops

Giving details of sowing in the current Kharif season till July 31, the Agriculture Minister said that so far Kharif crops have been sown in about 70 lakh hectares of land. Last year, during this period, Kharif crops were sown in 74 lakh hectares in the state. If the average of the last 3 years is taken, then 81 percent of the total area of ​​85 lakh hectares in the state has been planted so far this year. Cotton has been cultivated in the maximum area of ​​more than 23 lakh hectares.

Till now, oilseed crop has been sown in a total area of ​​22.90 lakh hectares in Gujarat. As compared to last year, the area under oilseed crop cultivation has increased by 1 lakh hectares. Last year, during this period, groundnut crop was sown in about 16 lakh hectares, as compared to which, this year till now, groundnut has been sown in more than 18.80 lakh hectares, with an increase of about 2.5 lakh hectares.

Heavy rain alert in these 5 states

Monsoon is set to bring heavy rains in North West India in the next three days, due to which heavy rains are expected in Delhi-NCR. Apart from this, monsoon activity is expected to remain strong in Central India for the next 4-5 days. Very heavy rains may occur at different places in states like Madhya Maharashtra, Coastal Karnataka, East Madhya Pradesh, Konkan, Goa and West Madhya Pradesh.

The Meteorological Department has issued heavy rain alert for Madhya Maharashtra from August 1 to 3, for coastal Karnataka on August 1, for eastern Madhya Pradesh on August 2 and 3, for Konkan, Goa and West Madhya Pradesh on August 3.
