Rahul Gandhi In Wayanad: What is the situation in Wayanad now? Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha, former MP from Wayanad Rahul Gandhi and his sister, Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra on Thursday visited the landslide-affected area of Choorlamalla in Wayanad district in Kerala. Both the Congress leaders took stock of the situation.
Rahul and Priyanka visited Wayanad
According to the Congress, after reaching the spot amid rain, Rahul and his sister Priyanka left for the Community Health Center in Meppadi. They said that from there they will leave for Dr. Moopen Medical College and two relief camps in Meppadi. Party general secretary and Alappuzha MP KC Venugopal is also with them.

Rahul Gandhi is a former MP from Wayanad
Rahul Gandhi won the election from Wayanad Lok Sabha constituency in 2019. In the recent Lok Sabha elections, he again won from Wayanad as well as Rae Bareli seat in Uttar Pradesh. He resigned from the Wayanad constituency in June where Priyanka is expected to contest in a by-election. The announcement was made by Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge and former MP from this seat Rahul Gandhi himself.
