Allahabad High Court, The Allahabad High Court has said that the way illegal conversions are being done on a large scale, if it continues, the majority population of the country will become a minority. The court said that the meetings converting the citizens of the country should be banned immediately. Justice Rohit Ranjan Agarwal made this remark while rejecting the bail plea of accused Kailash, a resident of Maudha in Hamirpur, under the Uttar Pradesh Prohibition of Unlawful Conversion of Religion Act, 2021.

Kailash was booked under sections of illegal religious conversion. Complainant Ramkali Prajapati had said in the FIR that Kailash had taken his brother Ramphal from home to attend a social function in Delhi. Many more people from the village were also taken to this function. Later, everyone was lured and converted to Christianity.

People are being converted to Christianity on a large scale

According to Ramkali, her brother was mentally ill. After his arrest in this case, Kailash’s lawyer said that the applicant did not convert the complainant’s brother. Pastor Sonu had organized the program and he converted everyone. He has been released on bail. The Additional Advocate General of the state government said that by organizing such meetings, people are being converted to Christianity on a large scale. Kailash has been involved in taking people from the village and converting them to Christianity. He was given a lot of money in return for this.

Conversion of religion by offering inducements is not allowed in the country

The court said that Article 25 of the Constitution gives freedom to anyone to choose religion voluntarily, but does not allow anyone to convert by luring them. Preaching one’s religion does not mean converting a person of another religion to your religion. The court said, the meetings that convert the citizens of the country should be banned immediately. There is no provision for conversion in Article 25. Justice Rohit Ranjan made this remark while rejecting the bail plea of Kailash, accused in the conversion case.
