7 October, 2023… this was the date when the Palestinian organization ‘Hamas’ made Israel cry tears of blood with its terror attack. An attack in which more than 1200 people were killed, and about 250 Israelis were taken hostage. Now, exactly 297 days after this attack… Israel has finally put an end to the story of Ismail Haniya, the head of Hamas’s political wing and the person responsible for this attack. The entire house in Iran’s capital Tehran, where Haniya was staying as a guest, was razed to the ground on the night of 30 and 31 July.
In this attack, along with Haniya, one of her security guards was also killed. This attack took place in a densely populated residential area of Tehran and the precision with which it happened has surprised the world. This method is being considered a sign of the inputs Israel has about Haniya and its dangerous power to strike. But how did this attack happen in Tehran, which is about 2000 km away from Israel’s capital Tel Aviv? Was it a drone attack? An air strike? Or a surface to surface missile attack? At present, this is the biggest question, whose answer everyone is waiting for.
Because even after such a big and important attack, it is still not clear what was that celestial body that destroyed Ismail Haniya’s house at midnight. Iran’s Revolutionary Guard Corps, that is, the Iranian army itself is confused about this attack. It has said that the method of attack is not clear at the moment and it is being investigated. In fact, since the terrorist attack on Israel on October 7, Haniya was living in his hideout in Qatar, away from Palestine. Due to this, it was not possible for Israeli agencies to find and target him.

Now, about ten months after the October 7 attack, when Haniya reached to attend the swearing-in ceremony of Iran’s new President Masoud Pezeshkian, this proved to be the biggest mistake of his life. According to sources, as soon as the news of Haniya being in Tehran was received, American and Israeli intelligence agencies became active. In collaboration with Mossad, the CIA found out his precise location and according to Iranian time, at exactly 2 o’clock in the night, an explosion took place in the sky of Tehran, which took the life of Hamas chief Haniya. This attack is a big setback for Hamas
Danger of a new war starting in the Middle East region of the world
This is an equally big challenge for Iran, which supports Hamas. Because in this attack, not only one of its favorite leaders has lost his life, but the life has also been lost on its own land. It has not even been able to find out how this attack happened. This is the reason why Iran’s top leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei has said that Israel will have to pay the price for this attack. Because firstly this attack happened on a guest of Iran and secondly he died on Iranian land. Except for the Israeli attack on the Iranian embassy in Syria last April, the tension between the two countries had never increased so much that it seemed that there would be a direct confrontation between the two, but now after this attack, the situation seems to be changing. In fact, till now only organizations like Hamas, Hezbollah or Houthis were trying to confront Israel by carrying out small and big attacks, but if Iran tries to take revenge for this attack, then it will be a face-to-face clash between big and powerful countries and its consequences will be much more dangerous.
Haniya was killed in a very secure and sensitive area of Iran
Meanwhile, regarding the attack, Iranian media has claimed that after attending the President’s swearing-in ceremony, Haniya was staying in one of the special houses built for war veterans in Tehran. From this point of view, not only this house, but the entire area is considered to be very safe and sensitive, but the way this house was targeted at 2 o’clock in the night and an aerial attack was carried out, is in itself a proof of how big a lapse this is on the part of Iranian security agencies and how big a success it is on the part of Israeli agencies.
Although the Iranian army is currently trying to find a way to attack, the media is calling the attack the result of an airborne projectile. The confusion can be gauged from the fact that some agencies are also trying to clarify that this attack was not carried out from Iranian soil at least. Lebanese website Al-Mayadeen News, which supports Hezbollah, has clarified, citing an Iranian source, that this attack was carried out by targeting Haniya’s hideout from another country. Israel killed two major enemies in 24 hours
This is the second time in the last 24 hours that Israel has selectively killed two of its biggest enemies. Earlier on Tuesday, the Israeli army attacked Lebanon’s capital Beirut and killed Hezbollah’s number-2 Fuad Shukr. It is being said that just like Haniya’s location, Israel had accurate information about Fuad as well, according to which the Israeli Air Force bombed Beirut and killed him. Shukr was also known as Haj Mohsin. Israel held him responsible for the attack on Golan Heights.
After the death of Fouad Shukr, the Israeli army said in a statement, “Our fighter jets killed Fouad Shukr, the most senior military commander of the terrorist organization Hezbollah and the head of its strategic unit, in Beirut…” On the evening of July 27, Hezbollah targeted a football field in northern Israel with an Iranian Falak-1 rocket. 12 children playing in the field were killed in this rocket attack. It was only after this attack that Israel vowed to take revenge. It threatened Hezbollah with dire consequences. Fouad Shukr was the right hand man of Hezbollah’s Secretary General Hassan Nasrallah.
The Israeli army also targeted Haniya’s sons and grandsons
He was Nasrallah’s advisor in planning and directing attacks and operations. Before Haniya, Israel had also killed his three sons. In April this year, Israeli security forces targeted Haniya’s sons. Haniya had 13 sons. So far, three sons, one grandson and three granddaughters have died. Israel had killed Haniya’s three sons by airstrikes on the Gaza Strip. The Israeli army had said that Haniya’s three sons Amir, Hazem and Mohammad were going to carry out terrorist activities in Gaza, meanwhile all three came under the grip of air strikes.
After that, on 25 June 2024, 10 members of his family including his sister were killed in an attack on the refugee camp. Before that, in October last year, when Israel started wreaking havoc on Gaza, 14 members of Ismail Haniya’s family, including his brothers and nephews, were killed. In November 2023, another granddaughter of Ismail Haniya was killed in an airstrike in Gaza and the eldest grandson was also killed in an Israeli airstrike in the last week of November. In this way, Haniya’s entire family gradually became Israel’s target. Now after this attack, there is a possibility of a big war.
