home Minister Amit Shah , Three new criminal laws came into force across the country from Monday. Regarding these laws, Union Home Minister Amit Shah said that with these laws, the victim will get justice soon. The laws made by the British have been repealed. From today, a new law has been implemented in every police station. These laws will protect the rights of the victims. He said that there is a provision of a new section in it for anti-national activities.

We ensured the rights of the victim: Shah

The Home Minister said that after 77 years of independence, the criminal justice system is becoming completely indigenous. After 75 years, these laws were considered and these laws have started working in every police station from today. The laws made by the British have been abolished and the criminal laws made by the Indian Parliament have been implemented. In these, justice has been provided instead of punishment, and speedy trial instead of delay. Earlier laws protected the rights of the police, now the rights of the victim and the complainant have been protected through these laws.

‘A whole chapter was added for women and children’

Shah further said, ‘Priority of sections and chapters has been decided in these. First of all, crime against women and children has been talked about. A complete chapter has been added which has 35 sections and 13 provisions. Now 20 years of punishment or life imprisonment for gang rape, death penalty for rape of a minor, a separate crime has been created to deal with those who exploit by making false promises or hiding identity. Provision has been made to take the statement of the victim in the presence of women officers and her family members.’

FIR against street vendor in Delhi under new law

The Delhi Police registered the first FIR late Sunday night under the provisions of the Indian Justice Code against a street vendor in the Kamla Market area. Three new criminal laws came into force in the country on Monday, which will bring far-reaching changes in India’s criminal justice system. The Indian Justice Code (BNS) 2023, the Indian Civil Protection Code (BNSS) 2023 and the Indian Evidence Act (BSA) 2023 have come into force across the country from today. These three laws have replaced the British-era laws, the Indian Penal Code (IPC), the Code of Criminal Procedure (CrPC) and the Indian Evidence Act respectively.
