The whole country watched the wedding celebrations of Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant. Along with Bollywood and sports, Hollywood star Kim Kardashian and her sister Khloe Kardashian also attended the celebrations of the Ambani family. Kim and Khloe wore beautiful Indian outfits in different functions of the wedding. Some of these were designed by designer Manish Malhotra and some by Tarun Tahiliani. Kim Kardashian, laden with diamond jewellery, wore a beautiful rose gold lehenga choli in which she looked extremely beautiful. Now designer Tarun has spoken about this.
Tarun had prepared Kim’s dress
Talking to India Today/AajTak, Tarun Tahiliani said, “I did not get time with Kim. We were contacted by her stylist Tania and they were very particular. We had to see her fitting a night before the ceremony. And Kim’s body is unique. But I was lucky that I was in China and I found a mannequin that looked exactly like her body. I bought it and brought it here with me on the plane. So I felt like I was fitting Kim even though she was not here.”

He further added, ‘And I think she looked amazing and I loved it. What I thought when Rose said that to her, I said you have liberated Indian women to live with their curves. No matter what you are, fashion has become a binder for a lot of people. You know why do you need a foreigner’s idea of body, because our bodies are very different. Our shapes are different. Our culture is different. It took Kim to make people understand that curvy bodies can also be beautiful.’
Tarun also said, ‘So it all happened very quickly but they were very professional. I didn’t even go to Bombay. Mancha went, she did their fitting. They were amazing. It was a joy because they were happy. They were excited. Fashion is a good energy. Then it is also fun. You can deal with pressure if it is with good energy.’
Tarun made India’s dress for Olympics
Designer Tarun Tahiliani has also designed India’s uniform for the Olympic Games 2024 in Paris. Talking about it, he said, ‘It was also done in a hurry, because working with the government means that there will be committees. Then there were elections and then there was no Sports Minister. IOC i.e. International Olympic Committee was good. PT Usha was amazing. But then the athletes were in different places across India, so we could not take their measurements. No fitting was done. So it was a bit hasty. I designed it to have a simple clean look. I wanted the athletes to match the tricolor. Every country walks behind its flag. And that’s why I wanted the design to be simple, easy and cool. This is not a fashion show, not a wedding. Let’s talk about the medal and keep in mind that our team is comfortable.
