MP News : In Khargone’s tourist town Maheshwar, when the son was bathing in the Narmada river, the mother and daughter jumped into the river to save him. All three died by drowning in the raging river. The police searched and took out the bodies and sent them for postmortem. There is mourning due to the incident.
This incident took place at Peshwa Ghat of Narmada river in Maheshwar, about 65 km from Khargone district headquarters. A Rajput family from Indore had reached there to take bath in the river. During bathing, 18-year-old Vikram, son of Karan Singh, started drowning in the Narmada river. Seeing this, 44-year-old mother Urmila and 25-year-old married sister Mohini, wife of Sanjay Das, jumped into the river to save Vikram.
While trying to save their son and brother, mother Urmila and sister Mohini drowned and died. During the search, the bodies of Urmila and Mohini were recovered. When Vikram was searched, he was also found dead.
SDM Anil Jain says that a Rajput family living near Indore’s Aurobindo Hospital had come to Maheshwar for a trip. Here they reached Peshwa Ghat to take a bath. This ghat is prohibited for bathing. While bathing here, the woman and her married daughter died. The woman’s son also died by drowning.
