According to the news agency, a woman and her son died due to electric shock in Dataganj area of Badaun. The accident happened when a high tension electric wire fell on the iron fence around their house. First the woman got hit by it and then the son who went to save her also got hit by the current.
Sub-divisional Magistrate (SDM) Dharmendra Kumar Singh said Rajendra Devi (58) accidentally touched the fence late Tuesday night. When her son Umesh (37) came out to rescue her, he too got electrocuted along with his mother. Both of them died. The deceased were residents of ward number three of the agricultural area Usawa town.

The SDM said Devi’s husband Asharam, a farmer, had put up an iron wire fence around the house to prevent animals from entering. Late Tuesday night, a high-power power wire passing nearby suddenly fell on the house’s fence, following which the incident took place. The electricity department will provide compensation to the victims’ family.
At the same time, the brother of the deceased said that my mother got up at night. Suddenly a wire touched her leg. When she fell, my brother Umesh tried to lift her but he also got caught in the current. Many calls were made to the electricity employees to shut down the power. But not a single employee picked up the phone.
