Surat Police, Surat Police has arrested a terrorist who was hatching an anti-national conspiracy in collaboration with terrorist organization Jaish-e-Mohammed on charges of chain snatching. According to officials, the accused has been identified as Abdul alias Peer Ali Mohammad Sakir Shaikh. He has also been arrested earlier on charges of anti-national activity.

According to the information received, Abdul was earlier arrested by Gujarat ATS. More than a dozen cases are registered against Abdul in different police stations across Gujarat. Police said that 47-year-old Abdul, a resident of Surat, was wanted in police stations like Dindoli, Umra and Vadodara in Surat city in cases like chain snatching.

Arrest was made in 2002 riots

Apart from this, during the 2002 riots, Abdul was arrested in Ahmedabad’s Vejalpur police station area on charges of instigating riots. In 2006, Gujarat ATS arrested Abdul on charges of being in touch with a handler of Pakistan’s terrorist organization Jaish-e-Mohammed and being involved in anti-national activities. Apart from this, Abdul, who is now involved in chain snatching, had even fought inside the jail when he was lodged in Ahmedabad’s Sabarmati jail in 2008. In 2017, he was even arrested with weapons from Ahmedabad’s Aslali area.

Abdul is a resident of Amethi

Officials said that Abdul lives in Juhapura, Ahmedabad. He is originally from Amethi in Uttar Pradesh. According to the police, Abdul used to snatch chains by putting fake number plates on his bike, the police was looking for him for many days.
