The last T20 match at Pallekele got delayed due to rain, where the Indian team’s top order collapsed in the powerplay. At one stage, India lost 5 wickets for 48 runs, after which the Indian team scored 137/9 with the help of Shubman Gill (39) and Riyan Parag (26) and finally Washington Sundar (25).

What happened in the super over of IND vs SL?
The match went into a Super Over after being tied where Sri Lanka could only manage two runs from three balls, one of which was a wide off the first ball of Washington Sundar and eventually both batsmen got out for playing big shots. Kusal Perera pulled one ball straight to deep backward square leg and Pathum Nissanka was dismissed in his pull attempt.

India needed only three runs to win in the Super Over and Suryakumar swept the first ball to short fine, where a misfield resulted in a boundary and Sri Lanka lost the match.

The spinners turned the match around in the last 5 overs
Now let us tell you the story of those last overs of the match, where first the Indian team tied the match and then won in the super over. Understand what went wrong with the Sri Lankan team during the run chase in the last 5 overs. 15 overs of the Sri Lankan innings had been completed and they seemed to be in a strong position with a score of 108/1. From here, only 30 runs were needed from those 30 balls.

Rinku and Surya bowled for the first time in T20 International cricket and they bowled 2 overs…
In the last 2 overs when Sri Lanka needed 9 runs from 12 balls, one over of Mohammad Siraj was left. He had given 11 runs in 3 overs. In such a situation, it seemed that after Khalil got out, captain Surya would give the ball to Siraj. But Surya surprised everyone with his captaincy and handed over the 19th over of the match to Rinku Singh.
In his over, Rinku himself caught the dangerous Kusal Perera (46) off his second ball. Then on the last ball of the over, Rinku got Ramesh Mendis (3) caught by Shubman Gill. Rinku gave 3 runs in the over and took 2 wickets.

Now in the last over, Sri Lanka needed 6 runs from 6 balls to win, but here Surya surprised once again. Surya brought himself on the bowling attack despite Siraj having the remaining over.
After bowling a dot ball on the first ball, Surya took his first international wicket by dismissing Kamindu Mendis (1) on the second ball of the over. After this, he dismissed Mahish Teekshna on 0 on the next ball. One run came on the fourth ball and on the fifth and sixth balls, Sri Lanka scored 2-2 and tied the match. But the Indian team won the super over and won the series 3-0.
